Teenage Classes – for ages 12–17
Teenage Intensive: International Fringe Festival film/theatre show
This course offers a longer class time than our general teenage class. It covers film and theatre and in 2010 members of this class will perform a theatre piece (mix of film and theatre) for the 2010 Melbourne International Fringe Festival. You can discover more about this festival at www.melbournefringefestival.com.au The website will continue to be updated.
The youth aspect of the festival has been growing and gathering interest from the industry in general. Being in the Fringe Festival gives you the opportunity to be included in the guide which is distributed in its thousands throughout Melbourne. The website is also a large marketing tool for festival shows.
The director/teacher of this course (TBA) will be a very experienced theatre maker who knows how to bring together a series of ideas into one whole. The experience will be very different from anything that the school has done before with young people. There is a larger commitment of time as the show gets closer. The course includes tuition, rehearsal with an experienced industry professional as director, and publicity and marketing of the show for a sustained audience. Mostly, it gives you the opportunity to experience performing in an entire season of a show.
