Professional Actor Training Program: class activity2008 Professional Actor Training Program

161a Heidelberg Road, Northcote/Fairfield border

These courses take place at our new central venue which comprises a theatre space and film studio. This will give students the opportunity to perform more theatre and/or have their film and TV work screened in front of an audience. We are also forming a professional theatre group where experienced actors will open rehearsals to our students, giving invaluable insights into the journeys an actor takes in creating a character.

To join the Professional Actor Training Program, experience is not necessary although many experienced actors attend. Students include professional actors, university students and people in other vocations and jobs, all of whom have a desire to enter the profession of acting, and/or its related paths. We welcome people who work (or wish to work) in related areas such as directing, writing and production.

We offer a range of classes at this level (see Courses and Subjects), all of which are taught by our most experienced teachers. We have several casting and theatre directors who attend as guest teachers (see Teachers).

Although we cannot and do not guarantee work as a result of attending these classes, many of Australia’s successful actors (see Students of Note) obtained their break as a result of these courses. Drama with a Difference offers students valuable contacts and various ways of entering the profession.

We welcome you to join our passionate community, which continues to explore the nature and power of human creativity.

“Great actors see things more clearly than the rest… inviting us into a world they have caught a glimpse of so that we can go forth… enchanted… with an enhanced awareness of the possibilities of life.”

Liv Ullman (writing about Charlie Chaplin)

We look forward to meeting you in 2008!
Michele Williams BA (Melb), Grad Dip Dramatic Arts
