In 2008, the Professional Actor Training Centre will be offering the following courses:
All courses of the Professional Actor Training Centre will be held at 161a Heidelberg Road, Northcote/Fairfield border. These courses are open to people with and without experience – however, a strong commitment is required. Note that the Free First Class offer does not apply to the Professional Classes. Intensive Film and TV ClassTuesday nights This year-long class focuses on film and TV. It is a valuable course for experienced participants as well as those who would like to take acting to a more serious level. The course will involve the making and screening of a short film. Everyone will have a part and receive a DVD copy as part of the course. Dates: Time: 7.00pm – 9.30pm Cost: You can book via the online application form.
Scene Studies ClassWednesday nights Scene Studies Class is 12 weeks in duration, providing students who cannot commit for an entire year (as required for the Industry Presentation Class) with an opportunity to perform. At the conclusion of the scene studies course students will perform ‘Work In Progress’ to an invited audience. Dates: Wednesday 9 July to Wednesday 24 September + performance following weekend You can book via the online application form.
Industry Presentation ClassThe Industry Presentation Course is a year long program via audition and/or interview only. End of year performanceThe group works towards a performance in the Melbourne Fringe Festival. This year’s course is already full and in rehearsal, however if you are interested in joining in 2009 please indicate your interest by filling in the online application form. We will then get back to you early next year. If you would like to come to the performance of this year’s group, see our Performance Group page for more information. Industry Presentation Class – course informationThis course, which is by audition/invitation only, is now closed for 2008 but will be offered again in 2009. It is open to people with and without experience, however a strong commitment is required. The course will teach performance skills and will culminate in a theatre piece as part of the Melbourne International Fringe Festival. This is a great opportunity to invite agents, casting directors, theatre directors etc., many of whom have attended past presentations. There are three blocks and students must attend each block in order to take part in the performance weeks. Audition dates for 2009: You can register your interest via the online application form.
