Primary Classes – for ages 8–12

Term Classes

Drama with a Difference offers primary school aged children with drama classes for a variety of needs and intentions:

  • Increased confidence and self-esteem.
  • Better communication and team playing skills
  • Enhanced sense of creativity
  • Speaking in front of others
  • Children who may wish to look at the possibility of auditioning (and perhaps obtaining) roles in film, TV and Theatre.

Subjects include:

  • Improvisation: Coming up with imaginative ideas “on the spot”
  • Character Work
  • Creative Movement: Not dance as such, expressive, free form movement which relates to how different characters move.
  • Voice: As the child gets more confident and/or experienced, the voice naturally strengthens.

Later in the year we move into:

  • Script Work, Camera and Audition Techniques: These are great for building confidence in all young people whether or not they want to be actors
  • Film and TV – The course covers aspects of film and TV
  • End of Year Performance: All children work towards an end of year performance.
  • Devising Their Own Scripts: The emphasis is very much upon the children and not on expensive sets and costumes.

Fees:

Based on a cost of $33.00 per class (inc. GST):

Term 1: 7 weeks x $33.00 = $231.00

Term 2: 9 weeks x $33.00 = $297.00

Term 3: 10 weeks x $33 per week = $330.00

Term 4: 10 weeks x $33.00 per week = $330.00

The term fee must be paid for in full PRIOR to the commencement of your first class. Payment must be for the entire term in which you are enrolling, or pro rata if you are enrolling part way through a term.

Students who have not paid in full will not be permitted to enter the course.
