For students who would like to be professional actors

Private tuition for entry into the major drama schools

For younger people who are interested in becoming serious actors, going to full time drama school is usually the best option. This kind of training offers you the ability to audition, not only for television work, but also for work in theatre, musicals etc. The more skills one has, the more one is likely to be employed! In addition, most of these schools now offer this training as a degree program, giving graduates the possibility to go on to teaching and/or further education of other kinds, within their field of interest.

The major three drama schools in Australia are:

  1. The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA)
  2. The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA)
  3. Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

Other full time, degree programs are offered at The University of Ballarat, Monash University and most universities have a student theatre, which has given many successful actors entry into the profession. If you do enough of it, student theatre at a university, can offer you the rigorous training necessary to enter the profession.

There are also excellent drama schools overseas, that some of our students have trained at. We can offer you advice on all of these options.
